12th ISP PG Convention hosted by ITS- The Education Group between 1st – 3rd March,2013

The Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology, I.T.S -The Education group organized the 12th ISP Postgraduate convention in the sprawling campus of I.T.S Dental college, Greater Noida, touted as city of the millennium, well planned with wide roads, beautiful parks and seamless connectivity. The theme of the convention was “Periorang”, each colour of the spectrum reflecting the germination of new ideas in our ever expanding spectrum of Periodontics.
The inauguration of the convention was held on 2nd March’ 2013 and the chief guest for the occasion was Mr VC Goel, Vice Chancellor Chaudhary Charan Singh University. The guests of honour were Dr (Col) S K Ojha Secretary DCI, and Dr RP Chadha, Chairman I.T.S -The Education group. Dr Santosh Sreedhar, President ISP, Dr Balaji Manohar, Secretary ISP , Dr Ashish Jain, President Elect ISP, Dr Hari Parkash, Director General , I.T.S Dental Colleges , Dr Anmol Kalha, Director PG studies, I.T.S Dental College Greater Noida, Dr Puneet Ahuja Principal I.T.S Dental college, Greater Noida, Dr Vidya Dodwad, Organizing chairperson, Dr Udayan Gupta, Scientific Chairman, Dr Kanwarjeet Singh Asi, Organizing secretary also graced the occasion. The highlights of the inauguration were release of the souvenier, Executive committe member directory, Journal of Indian society of Periodontology and the 2nd call brochure of the 38th National conference.
The preconvention workshop was held on 1st March 2013 at I.T.S Campus, Muradnagar which attracted 118 delegates from all parts of the country. Four eminent speakers of national and international repute deliberated on the recent advances in Implants, Biomarkers, Lasers and Peizoelectric surgery. The workshop included didactic clinical lectures and hands on courses to meet the manifold requirements of postgraduate trainees and young periodontists. Apart from scientific paper presentations, the highlights of the convention were 8 guest lectures by renowned speakers, experts in various disciplines of Periodontics and a panel discussion on “Periodontal Regeneration : Clarifying the future , which encouraged the young periodontists towards research and development of newer techniques and methodologies.
The 12th ISP Postgraduate convention was a grand success with more than 900-1000 delegates, representing different parts of the country, 750 scientific paper presentations – the first time in the history of Indian society of Periodontology which speaks volumes of the scientific deliberations held in the convention.
