    One day International Seminar on “Herbal Pharmacovigilance: Current Scenario and Future Strategies” sponsored by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University was organized by I.T.S College of Pharmacy, Ghaziabad in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association on 31st August, 2018 at Vikram Sarabhai Auditorium.
    The Chief Guest, Dr. William Selvamurthy (President- Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation, Amity Universe), the Guest of Honor, Mr. R.A. Gupta (Hony. Secretary IPA-U.P. & Member CEC, IPA), Mr. Surender Sood (Director-PR, I.T.S-The Education Group), Mr. Ashutosh Dikshit (Deputy Director HR& Admin, I.T.S-The Education Group) and Dr. S. Sadish Kumar (Director, I.T.S College of Pharmacy) inaugurated the mega event by lightening the lamp.
    Dr. S. Sadish Kumar welcomed all the Resource persons, Dignitaries, delegates and participants. Mr. Surender Sood briefed on the importance and need of Herbal Pharmacovigilance and also threw light upon the scope and opportunities in the field of Pharmacovigilance while Mr. Ashutosh Dikshit emphasized on hard and soft skill explaining about the importance of soft skills in their future career growth. Around 600 Pharmacy students, Research scholars, Directors, HODs and Faculty members from various Pharmacy colleges and Industry participated in the conference.
    Dr. William Selvamurthy emphasized on the importance of uses of Herbal medicines and their related side-effects due to lack of proper ADR monitoring process. Mr. R.A. Gupta informed the students about major steps taken by IPA for the betterment of Pharmacy field.
    The Keynote speaker, Mr. Ashutosh Verma (Malaysia) made a comprehensive presentation covering the ancient use of herbal medicine and their demand abroad. Mr. Ajay Sharma (India) briefed about Pharmacovigilance process for better use of medicine and ways to reduce the side effects of herbal medicines. Dr. Mohd. Yasir (Ethiopia) explained about broad range of analytical techniques and also discussed about related instruments like HPLC, GC, LC-MS etc for standardization of herbal medicines. Mr. Puneet Gupta (India) highlighted about the adverse drug reactions and gave the concluding remarks.
    Oral sessions and Poster presentations were held during post lunch sessions. Top two posters and oral presenters in various specializations were awarded. Dr. Shalini Kapoor Shawhney (Associate Prof.) in her Vote of Thanks expressed warm thanks to all delegates, speakers, faculty members, students, the Coordinator of seminar Dr. Praveen K. Gaur (Associate Prof.)  the Joint Coordinators Ms. Neelam Singh, Mr. Rahul Chaudhary (Asst. Profs.) & Dr. Manoj K. Sharma (Associate Prof.), other Committee members and volunteers for hosting the grand event.
