    Full Desscription

Prof. Shikha Aggarwal of Department of Management, I.T.S, Ghaziabad participated in Faculty Development Programme on topic “Problem solving & Ideation as 21st Century Skills” organized by Institution’s Innovation Council – MIT Art Design and Technology University on February 10, 2022.

The FDP was planned for the entire day in two sessions. The resource person for the FDP was Prof. Harshit Desai, Director of MIT ID Innovation. In the first session, the resource person talked about how technology has come such a long way from vintage telephones to mobile and smart phones and from invention of wheel to flying in the air through aero planes. With that now skills that were an essential quality a few decades back have now gone into a blurred demarcation with hard skills. And in the 21st century, 4C’s that is Creativity and innovation, Critical thinking and problem solving, Communication and Collaboration are the skills which are become hard skills now instead of being soft skills. These skills also help to take you a lead even in times of VUCA world with only limited information. They help you take calculated risk. They amplify your work and make it easier. As these skills are essential and without these it is difficult in the coming years to grow and excel. In the second session, resource person Prof. Dhimant Panchal, Chair Professor at Institute of Design, MIT and Pro- Chancellor, Avantika University, enlightened on how to tackle any problem using designing skills. He shared very beautiful examples of finding and defining a problem and designing product solutions around it. The FDP was very useful and enlightening.
